Research to optimise maternity care resources

The challenge was to engage and connect a sensitive health message of stillbirth prevention with pregnant women and medical professionals.

Extensive co-design engagement with over 1,200 health care professionals, pregnant women, Aboriginal health workers, rural and remote clinicians and bereaved parents were consulted with via online surveys, online forums,  focus groups, in-depth interviews and face to face interviews. 

The research co-design insights informed the branding, content, design, eLearning program and resources for the Safer Baby Bundle stillbirth prevention program. The Safer Baby Bundle eLearning modules were launched in October 2019 by The Hon Greg Hunt MP Minister for Health and is the first nationally aligned health program supported by all jurisdictions.
